MMGP Internship Program

Originating in the summer of 2013, MassMutual Greater Philadelphia’s (MMGP) Summer Internship Program was designed to create opportunities for students who are interested in pursuing a career path in the financial services industry. One of the core tenets of our creed is to “Identify, empower & develop the next generation of leadership,” and we believe our internship program provides a strong foundation for future leaders to launch their careers.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Program is a paid, eight-week, rotational program, with the potential to extend into a part-time position during the upcoming academic school year. Students, rising Juniors and Seniors, who are selected for the program are sponsored by MMGP to obtain their Life & Health Insurance licenses.

The Program kicks off with a week-long training program, which will offer insight into the workings of our firm and the services we provide. The students will then participate in our ongoing training curriculum, providing them with exposure to our firm’s leadership and specialists. Focusing on multiple facets of the financial services industry, classroom instruction includes: Fundamentals of Underwriting; Practice Development Skills, including roll play, Sandler Training, case study and design; Business Technology Tools, including A360, E Money, EZ-App, Fortuna and Coverpath; Wealth Management Services; Fintech; and Marketing Planning and Activation, including social media and event marketing.

The students will then spend the remaining time working directly with senior financial professionals, providing the students with a truly hands-on experience. Through this partnership, our interns participate in client meetings, case design and implementation strategy discussions, client annual reviews, events, and more.
