Bala Cynwyd, PA, August 20, 2014 – Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) and First Financial Group, a general agency of MassMutual, are proud to announce Marcella Singley and Andres Vivas as the recipients of scholarships from the MassMutual Scholars program, a national scholarship program for high achieving college students interested in careers in the insurance and financial services industry.

Marcella Singley is an honors student at Rutgers School of Business-Camden pursuing a double major in Accounting and Finance. Upon graduation in May 2015, she will have the required 150 credits to sit for the CPA exam. Marcella is president of the student chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants at Rutgers-Camden and serves on the advisory board for the Student Experience Center.
Andres Vivas is a junior at Drexel University, pursuing a dual-major in Accounting and Finance. He is the president of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) Philadelphia’s Drexel University student chapter and also serves on the Student Affairs Committee. Andres is actively pursuing the necessary credit hours to sit for the CPA exam and is looking to further explore his interest in the financial services industry.

A total of 31 winners across the country were awarded scholarships of up to $5,000 each. To qualify for a MassMutual Scholarship applicants must meet certain academic criteria, such as maintaining a 3.0 or better GPA, express an interest in careers in the insurance and financial services industry, and demonstrate financial need.
