MassMutual Greater Philadelphia Welcomes 18 Interns
Students from Across the Philadelphia Region Join the Eight Week Summer Program

Bala Cynwyd, PA, June 25, 2019. Internships are a very important step in every young person’s career, as they give students the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents while putting their classroom knowledge to use in the “real world.” MassMutual Greater Philadelphia, a general agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) recognizes that internships are a great opportunity for not only the students but the company too. That’s why MMGP is hosting its sixth annual Summer Internship Program.

Led by Shane Mulligan, Internship Director, and Christina Young, Campus Recruiter, candidates for the program are selected from over 400 applicants. Students who are selected for the eight-week rotational program are sponsored by MMGP to obtain their Life & Health Insurance licenses. Two days of the week are spent in the classroom, where the firm’s leadership and specialists work through a robust curriculum. The students will then spend the remaining three days of the week working directly with senior advisors, providing the students with a truly hands-on experience within the financial services industry.

The MMGP 2019 Summer Internship Class includes: Dylan Corson, University of Pittsburg; Christian Dekker, Temple University; Shenna Grady, Temple University; Molly Hampsey, University Scranton; Trevor Levy, Penn State University; Laura Lucarelli, University of Delaware; Francis Maniscalco, Chestnut Hill College; Michael Marino, Chestnut Hill College; Karalyn McKnight, University of Scranton; Kathryn Riesburg, Temple University; Mallory Sanders, Temple University; Spencer Segal, University of Pittsburgh;  Joseph Stabile – The College of NJ;  Zoe Tauriello, West Chester University; Katarzyna Wawrzaszek, Chestnut Hill College; Griffin Werner, University of Delaware; Joseph Zettlemoyer, Widener University.

“This program gives us a great platform to promote education and career opportunities in the financial services industry,” President and CEO of MassMutual Greater Philadelphia, Harris Fishman states. “We’ve created an environment that makes it conducive for the students to explore all the industry has to offer and it’s gratifying to see these students blossom and pursue careers in finance post-graduation.”

“We are continually striving to improve our program, provide value to our university partners and offer a unique industry experience that separates our firm from its peers,” says Vice President of Recruiting, Mary Ann Patton. “This year we are thrilled to boast that as part of our continued success, 50% of the incoming class is made up of women! This presents a milestone for our firm, as we are looking to grow through a grassroots initiative to attract, promote and retain future professional women to the historically male-dominated financial industry.”
